(Reuters) – Russia launched a nightly third round of attacks against Kyiv, the city authorities announced early on Wednesday. However, air defence systems destroyed its drones and there were no immediate reports about casualties or destruction.

The air raid sirens continued to blare for several hours over Kyiv and the surrounding area, as well as in most of eastern Ukraine. Only at dawn did the skies clear.

Initial details were released by Kyiv’s military administration on Telegram, which cited initial information.

The Russians used drones made in Iran, the Shahed, for their attacks. The number of drones that were destroyed was not immediately clear.
