Maui County to host virtual career fair

Discover Maui County's career opportunities from the comfort of your own home. The Maui County Virtual Career Fair is being held entirely online from 9 am to 2 pm on Thursday, 25 May.
An announcement by the county states that the event will include information about county positions on parks and recreation, transportation, planning and zoning, construction and maintenance, public safety including police and firefighters, sanitation, social services, and more.
The announcement stated that an email would explain how to login. Participants can come and go at their convenience.
The announcement states that information will be provided on how to apply for nearly 100 positions. The attendees can also learn about the county employee benefits and have their questions answered by county staff in real time through a video or chat feature.
The Department of Personnel Services of Maui County is hosting the second virtual career fair in the county, focusing solely on county jobs, according to the announcement. Two county-only career fairs take place each year.
The announcement stated that the county of Maui employs more than 2,600 people and has an annual budget of approximately $1 billion. It also operates work sites on Maui Molokai, and Lanai. The majority of county employees are civil servants, who are collectively bargained and represented by public employee unions.
