Amin H. Nasser, CEO of Saudi Arabia's oil giant Aramco, will join the board of directors at Asset Managers.
BlackRock, the world's largest asset management firm, said that the move reflects its emphasis on the Middle East in its long-term strategic plan. BlackRock had more than $8 trillion in client assets by 2022.
Larry Fink said that Amin's career with Aramco, which spanned more than 40 years, gave him a unique view on the issues facing BlackRock and its clients.
Fink said that "His experience as a leader, his understanding of the global industry, the drivers for the shift to a low-carbon economy, and his knowledge of Middle East will all be valuable contributions to the BlackRock Board discussion."
